SmartCommenter (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides a browser extension that helps users generate short, human-like comments for LinkedIn. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed, how it is used, and how we comply with Google Chrome Web Store policies.

1. Information We Do Not Collect or Store

We do not collect, store, or retain any of the following:

• Your LinkedIn profile information
• LinkedIn posts, comments, or interactions
• Browsing history
• Personally identifiable information (PII)
• Drafted comments or generated text
• The content of your prompts
• Any inputs or outputs sent to the OpenAI API

All content used for comment generation is processed in real time and is not saved on our servers.

2. Information We Do Collect (Minimal & Non-Personal)

To operate the service, we collect only:

a. License Key (provided by you)

Used strictly to activate your plan (Free, Pro, Business).

b. Usage Count

Used only for enforcing daily/monthly plan limits.
No content or personal data is attached to the usage count.

We do not attempt to identify you or track your browsing behavior.

3. How SmartCommenter Processes Data

When you generate a comment:

• The extension sends only the text you highlight or paste within the extension interface to our server.
• We forward that text to OpenAI for the sole purpose of generating a response.
• Responses are returned to you instantly.
• We do not log, store, or retain the text you submit or the generated output.

Important:

SmartCommenter does not collect or store any user content, and we do not sell or share data with third parties for marketing or analytics.

4. Third-Party Processing (OpenAI)

SmartCommenter uses OpenAI’s API to generate comments.
Depending on OpenAI settings:

a. Standard mode (default & recommended):

Your inputs and outputs are not used by OpenAI to train its models.

b. Optional “shared project” mode (if enabled by the developer):

Some anonymized input/output data may be shared with OpenAI to improve model performance.

Regardless of setting:

• SmartCommenter does not store your data.
• OpenAI acts as a data processor, receiving text only for the purpose of generating a response.
• Users should avoid entering personal, sensitive, or confidential information.

5. Cookies

We do not use cookies in the extension or on our API.

6. Payment Processing

All payments are handled securely through Paddle.
We do not collect or store credit card or billing information.

7. Data Security

We implement the following protections:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• Modern secure hosting
• Zero-retention policy for all user-submitted text
• Strict internal access controls

Because we do not store user content, the risk surface is minimized.

8. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your:

• License key
• Usage records

We respond within 14 days.

9. Children’s Privacy

SmartCommenter is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this policy from time to time.
